Who we are

  • ColloCaid is a lexical computing and human-computer interaction research project developed by the University of Surrey, UK, Bangor University, UK and Adam Mickiewicz University in PoznaƄ, Poland. It is funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AH/P003508/1) for three years (2017-2020), and has received a favourable review from the University of Surrey Ethics Committee.

Why we collect information about you

  • We keep track of the information you provide us in this form for administrative, statistical and reporting purposes.

What information about you we collect

  • We do not see or store the texts you write or copy into ColloCaid. 
  • We need you to provide us with an existing e-mail address, your name and surname. Your e-mail address is used as your unique identifier in the system. We use it along with your name to communicate with you for administrative purposes (such as setting a password or reminding you of a lost password), and to keep logs of how often people are using our service for statistical and reporting purposes.
  • We also use the additional information you supply (intended use, main activity, country, institution, main writing language and how you heard of ColloCaid) for statistical and reporting purposes.
  •  If you opt in, we may contact you by email to ask for your feedback to help us further develop ColloCaid and assess its impact.
  • If you opt in, we will send you news about ColloCaid, such as version updates, and workshops, publications and conferences related to ColloCaid.

Do we share this information with third parties?

  • We will not share your name or email or other personal data with third parties.
  • We may use statistical data to report on how our tools are being used in a general way.

How long do we store information about you?

  • We will keep this information for two years after the project, which is due to end in May 2020. Until the project ends the ColloCaid tool is provided as a prototype for testing purposes. The information will be kept for two years after the end of the project for the purposes of analysis. If ColloCaid is marketed after the test period no information will be transferred

Can I ask you to delete all information you have about me?

  • Yes, you have the right to request that we remove all information about you from our records. Please contact info@collocaid.uk to do this. Additionally, if you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer Suzie Mereweather who will investigate the matter. If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data in a way that is not lawful you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) (https://ico.org.uk/).

Can I ask you what information you stored have about me?

  • Of course, at any point in time, this is your right guaranteed by law. Please contact info@collocaid.uk to do this.

Where is my information physically stored and who has access to it?

  • Our services are provided on a server located at the Bangor University, UK. Only ColloCaid project members can access the data we store.
